Horsebox Security Deposit

Pre-Authorised Security Deposit (up to £500)

To ensure the security and care of our vehicle, we require a £%00 security deposit before the hire period begins. This deposit is pre-authorised through our payment gateway (Stripe), meaning the funds are temporarily held but not taken from your account unless necessary.

When & How is the Deposit Taken?

• The pre-authorisation must be completed at least 12 hours before your hire period starts.
• Payment is securely processed via Stripe, ensuring a quick and seamless transaction.

What Happens to My Deposit?

• If the vehicle is returned in clean and undamaged condition, with the correct fuel level, the pre-authorisation will be released automatically.
• If additional charges apply (e.g., cleaning fees, refuelling, damage repairs), the required amount will be deducted before any remaining balance is refunded.

Common Deductions:

• Cleaning Fee – If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty.
• Refuelling Charges – If the fuel level is lower than agreed.
• Damage Repairs – Any damage beyond normal wear and tear.
• Late Return Fees – If the vehicle is returned beyond the agreed time.

Insurance Excess (£500)

Our insurance policy includes an excess of £500. In the event of a claim, the full £500 excess will be charged to the hirer’s account, regardless of fault.

This charge will be taken separately from the security deposit and must be paid in full before any claim is processed.

When Will the Deposit Be Released?

The deposit hold is released once the vehicle has been inspected and confirmed to meet return conditions. Depending on your bank, funds may take 5–10 working days to reflect in your account.

Need your deposit back sooner?

We can take a bank transfer for your deposit – however, this will be for the full £500 insurance excess. This may incur a £15 administration fee.
